Eight-one Scouts attend the conference. The following Districts were well represented Black Bear, Broken Arrow, Hudson Liberty, Ramapo Mountains, Ridgewood Glen Rock, Tanataqua, and Twin Valleys. Registration Started at 8:30 AM, after some miscues we were still on time for the start of the conference. Phil Barber opened the conference with an opening ceremony and song. Jerry Klunek then energize all the boys in their roles as den chiefs. The boys then broke into two groups one for Cubs and the other for Webelos. Each group was of equal size and the attended morning sessions for their respective roles. Concentration was directed toward their leadership roles and responsibilities.

Lunch was at noon, skits were performed and the midway was open to the attendees also. Their afternoon sessions offered instruction in performing tricks stunts and games the boys could use in motivating Cub Scouts. The closing recognized the efforts of all the boys. Certificates, Trained Patches and neckerchiefs were award to all the participants. Each boy completed their charge with the den chiefs pledge. The chief (Jim Toranto) arrived and delivered his message about climbing the mountain.

Many of the scouts commented to how good the sessions were and we are all appreciative to the positive comments. A critique is being planned for 7:30 PM December 12 or 19 at the Council Service Center to review what worked well , where we missed the mark, and to start planning next years sessions.

I just want to express my appreciation again for your fantastic performance on Saturday. You all are real professionals in what you do and you did it with the Scouting spirit that had to have trickled down to the Scouts. This in itself is a positive learning experience for them. Dan also thanks each staff member personally for all their efforts in making this a success, it truly was a cross district event.
