Scouts and Parents,
“Thank You” to the Scout units that participated in the 29
Sept 2007 Camp Yaw Paw Service Day and activity. During the day, 4 Scout
projects were undertaken, and 3 of the 4 were completed. Repairs began
at 9 am, and ran thru 2 pm, with a group lunch break in between. We tip
our hats to these Scouts and there setting a good example by helping Ranger
Ray Banta.
The Camp Yaw Paw fix-up efforts undertaken were:
1: Repair/rebuild the lean-to floor at the log lean-to between the dining
hall and the Cannonball hiking trail.
2. Remove rust with scrapers and paint the camp’s main amphitheater
flagpole (Great job cubs from P 258 and P 197)
3. Repair the roof (many missing shingles) on Byrd Cabin and caulk rain
gutters/valleys.
4. Remove a few dead standing trees with a chain saw, stacking wood afterwards.
(Timber!)
Should your Troop or Pack like to support our Cub Camps
in any way by undertaking a small maintenance project, please contact
